Glossographs [2021]
Glossographs is the moniker I began to use in 2021 as a thematic identity for projects which use environmental sound in site-specific residencies.
In April 2021 I was a resident artist at Scottish Sculpture workshop for the month [1].
There, I built an 'aquaphone' - a kind of musical instrument bowed with water in the base. I played this instrument in a deserted farmhouse called 'Deskie' alongside reeds removed from organs which I termed 'false owls'.
False Owls is the result of that residency. There is a sister release which explores a darker landscape of hauntology [2]. Glossographs as an investigation of abandoned space will continue in future projects.
False Owls is available here
